ORIMUS Security is a Miami-based security robotics company that develops autonomous mobile security systems. The ORIMUS platform combines a quadruped (four-legged) security robot, edge AI perception, autonomous patrol workflows, and human operator oversight to extend security coverage beyond fixed cameras and static guard posts.
A quadruped security robot is a four-legged mobile robot built to patrol and observe physical environments. Legged mobility lets it move through varied indoor and outdoor terrain that fixed cameras cannot cover and wheeled platforms can struggle with. The ORIMUS quadruped platform pairs this mobility with onboard AI perception and live human operator control.
No. ORIMUS is built to complement human security teams, not replace them. The platform handles repeatable, high-value tasks such as scheduled patrols and mobile observation, while trained operators keep live situational awareness, remote oversight, and full authority over every response decision.
Fixed cameras and sensors watch from static positions, which leaves moving blind spots across large sites. A mobile security robot patrols designated routes, observes changing conditions, and brings a camera and sensor stack to the places where fixed infrastructure stops — giving operators a clearer picture before they act.
ORIMUS is designed for schools and universities, residential communities, houses of worship, and critical environments. Typical missions include campus perimeter patrol, parking and pathway coverage, after-hours monitoring, amenity and gate support, event support, and remote visual inspection of higher-consequence facilities.
The ORIMUS platform is being developed around a configurable sensor stack that includes visual cameras, depth sensing, LiDAR mapping, and optional thermal capability, with secure WiFi and cellular connectivity for continuous communication with operators. A modular payload architecture supports mission-specific sensors and future integrations.
The ORIMUS Brain is the platform's onboard edge intelligence. It processes sensor information locally, close to the mission, which supports rapid awareness and resilient operation even when connectivity is constrained.
Operators stay in command through live video, remote teleoperation, and configurable escalation workflows. The platform supports scheduled patrols and event-driven workflows, and ORIMUS designs to a principle of human authority: technology should improve judgment, not remove accountability.
